Processing machinery and drive components are subjected to severe loads, particularly in demanding applications. FLUDEX® couplings provide as overload protection in the event of an emergency, as well as limiting start and maximum torque within the drive train. They also assist in starting the motor. Additionally, they separate and dampen rotary oscillation, which minimizes the need for restoring forces.

The Föttinger principle governs the functioning of fluid couplings. Because they are not mechanically coupled, the coupling components on the input and output sides are wear-free. The radial blades speed the fluid movement in the coupling, which transmits the torque. Both the Föttinger principle and the FLUDEX coupling’s working concept are demonstrated in our movie.

Did you know?

The specified operating conditions of a FLUDEX coupling can be monitored by a non-contact and maintenance-free Electronic Operating Control (EOC) system. A thermal operation control device and fusible safety plugs in the coupling housing provide additional protection against overheating and overload pressure.
