Alpha Drives Ltd Had a Call from A New Customer in The Pharmaceutical Sector Looking for Assistance with A Breakdown. From The First Call, We Identified the FLENDER Loher Dynavert Drive Was Obsolete. Following On From The Call It Was Decided to Send the Control Cabinet to Us.

Our service engineers removed the Dynavert and set about testing it to see if a repair could be carried out, after extensive testing it was found the drive was not repairable due to the poor condition and damage to it.

Control drawings were not available, so we traced all the control wiring back, we removed the original drive and repositioned some equipment then retro-fitted a Siemens G120 PM240-2 drive, a SIRIUS 3RV2 Motor Protection Circuit breaker and we matched a brake resistor to dissipate the excess energy. After the complete rebuild of the Drive unit, a FAT test was carried out. All equipment has been correctly installed and meets the wiring and safety standards such as IEC 60364. We then went to the site to commission the drive.

special consideration was taken as the motor is Atex-rated in a potentially explosive atmosphere, so it was commissioned according to the regulations.

A full set of drawings was generated, and the customer was very happy the centrifuge was back up and running to get production back.
