RELIABLE GEAR UNITS FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE VERTICAL CONVEYORS

Large volumes of bulk material can be vertically transported in bucket elevators to various heights without producing dust, after which it can be dumped. Often, there are more than 200 meters to conquer. There are massive weights to be moved.

The buckets in bucket elevators are attached to belts, link chains or central or double chain strands, which serve as the carrying elements. The higher station is where you may find the drive. The attributes listed for the drives intended for these uses are comparable to those seen on belt conveyors with sharp ascents. An input power that is quite high is needed for bucket elevators. Due to the high starting power, the drive must be soft-starting; the drive train’s fluid couplings allow for this. For this kind of application, bevel helical gear units are typically employed as single or twin drives on a base frame or swing base.

As world market leader for bucket elevator drives, FLENDER has standardized the complete application-specific drive system, thus combining the advantages of proven and reliable components with fast availability. FLENDER gear units are a crucial element of the drive train. They are characterized by maximum performance and operational reliability as well as optimal availability. Auxiliary drives (maintenance or load drives) and backstops are supplied as standard. The gear unit and the auxiliary drive are therefore perfectly matched.
