Alpha Drives Ltd. was pleased to welcome some of the Tipperary camogie’s most illustrious individuals in a celebration of Sporting prowess and community service, showcasing their outstanding accomplishments from the 2024 campaign. The occasion demonstrated the company’s dedication to supporting regional talent and paying tribute to these athletes’ hard work.

Esteemed Guests:

  • Sarah Corcoran – 2024 Minor Captain: In 2024, Sarah guided the Tipperary Minor Camogie team to All-Ireland championship. She won the converted Electric Ireland Minor Star Camogie player of the year award for her efforts, and her leadership on the pitch was crucial in winning the title. Sarah also represented the university of limerick at midfield in the Electric Ireland Camogie Third Level Team of the Year.
  • Sophie Pembroke – Player of the match, Junior All-Ireland Final: Sophie won player of the match for her remarkable performance in the junior All-Ireland Final. With a final score of 0-12 to 1-08, Tipperary narrowly defeated Laois thanks in large part to her performances.
  • Mairead Eviston – Senior Vice-Captain: In her capacity as Senior Vice-Captain, Mairead was instrumental in steering Tipperary to the 2024 National League championship. Throughout the season, her defensive skills and leadership were on display, and they paid off in the final against Galway. Mairead has repeatedly underlined the value of mental toughness and overcoming Tipperary’s recent struggles to advance past the semi-finals.
  • Grainne O’ Leary – Chairperson: Tipperary Camogie’s growth and success have been greatly aided by Grainne’s commitment and foresight. The organisation has grown significantly under her direction, and several teams representing a range of age groups have found success.
  • Geraldine Kinane – Public Relations Officer (PRO): Geraldine has been instrumental in advancing Tipperary Camogie and making sure that he teams’ and players’ accomplishments are given the credit they merit. Through her efforts, camogie has become more well-known both inside and outside of the county.

Trophies on display

The Coveted Senior and Junior All-Ireland trophies, which represent the hard-won triumphs of Tipperary’s teams in the 2024 season, were on display at the celebration. A tribute to the team’s victory on Croke park, the minor trophy, which symbolises the underage team’s success, was carried back home.

Special Acknowledgements:

The presentation of three gorgeous new jersey designs by Gaelic Armour’s Billy O’ Shea was one of the event’s highlights. By fusing contemporary Style with the rich history of the country, these designs perfectly capture the essence and customs of Tipperary Camogie.

  • Sarah Corcoran’s Outstanding Year: In 2024, Sarah received a lot of recognition for her efforts. With a final score of 2-9 to 0-10, she captained the minor team and guided them to All-Ireland triumph over Waterford. She won the Electric Ireland Minor Star Camogie Player of the Year award for her leadership abilities and supremacy in midfield, which were acknowledge nationally. Her inclusion in the Electric Ireland Camogie third level team of the year further highlights her steady play at the top levels of competition.
  • Triumph of the Junior Team: The Junior team’s Victory over Laois in the All-Ireland Final was evidence of their skill and tenacity. With a final score of 0-12 to 1-08, the team’s narrow triumph demonstrated their tenacity and featured several outstanding efforts, notably Sophie Pembroke’s, who was justifiably voted player of the match.
  • Senior Team’s National league Win: Tipperary Camogie’s team’s victory in the National League, which included defeating Galway in the championship match, was a note worthy accomplishment. This Triumph established a favourable course for upcoming titles in addition to show casing the team’s competitive advantage.

Underage development success:

Tipperary Camogie’s strong youth development initiatives are the cornerstone of its success. All of the Under 14 teams won Munster finals in 2024, demonstrating their outstanding performance. Notably, the ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams won the coveted Orla McDonagh Tournament and All-Ireland titles. While the under 16 ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams won the Munster shield, the under 15 squads also performed quite well, winning two important championship

The community as a whole is feeling proud and united as a result of Tipperary Camogie’s achievement.
