Celebrating the Laois rose

The entire Alpha Drives & Switchgear team is ecstatic to congratulate our colleague Katelyn Cummins on her achievements as the 2025 Rose of Tralee. This is a proud time for Katelyn, Laois, and everyone else present who has witnessed her warmth, drive, and perseverance light up the stage and our office.

At our Portlaoise plant, Katelyn contributes genuine skill and a strong, can-do attitude to her work. Katelyn sets an example whether she’s using the equipment, picking up new skills, or embodying the principles we value most: Professionalism, teamwork, and camaraderie. “Be confident in yourself, believe in yourself, and know that you are going to be amazing in the future, “is her straightforward yet impactful advice to young people. She has demonstrated this belief during her ascent to the Rose of Tralee winner.

Her triumph is extremely motivating throughout Laois. Katelyn’s appearance on a national platform demonstrates the pride and opportunities that come with modern trades employment. She serves as a reminder that desire, talent, and genuineness are valued and rewarded in addition to serving as an inspiration for young women considering technical occupations.

We at Alpha Drives & Switchgear are dedicated to fostering local talent and opening doors. From our support of the Tipperary Camogie team to our ongoing Phase 2 expansion in Portlaoise, Katelyn’s victory perfectly aligns with our broader initiatives to invest in individuals and the community. More jobs, training opportunities, and local investments will result from this development, providing a direct means of assisting the next generation in obtaining fulfilling careers in their communities.

Katelyn will now represent the Rose of Tralee in public appearances for a year. We’re thrilled about the opportunities and experiences this will provide, and we’re honoured to help her utilise her profile to inspire other young people, particularly women, to think about pursuing careers in sports, trades, and community leadership. Her experience demonstrates that there are numerous paths to success and that useful occupations can have an impact and be as aspirational as any other.

We’re excited about Katelyn’s return home as well. Next week, the entire crew can’t wait to see her again, hear about her experiences, and share in her joy. It will be an opportunity to express our gratitude for her graceful representation of our business and county and to join in the joy her accomplishment has brought to friends, coworkers, and the community at large.

This is a time of pride, motivation, and drive. It’s an opportunity for companies, educational institutions, and community organisations to highlight the range of career choices accessible to youth and to promote encouraging routes to training and employment.
