SIMOTICS SD Severe Duty Motors 1LE5/6 up to Frame 315

The Severe Duty motors with gray cast iron frames are especially rugged. This makes them the first choice for applications in the toughest of environmental conditions. They have outstanding performance both in dust loading and in vibration as well as in the aggressive atmospheres that prevail in the petrochemical and process industries. Their design supports optimized heat dissipation and offers the same handling as the general purpose variants.

Our well-proven 1LE1 motors up to motor efficiency class IE4 are available for line (DOL) operation. With the motors in the efficiency class IE4 the energy consumption can be reduced by up to 3% compared to IE3 motors. If you choose the 1LE1 platform you can switch to IE4 motors also at a later date, because all efficiency classes, from IE2 to IE4, have the same power rating – shaft height assignment. With Severe Duty motors in IE4 you opt for robust fixed speed drives on a future-proof platform.

Motors from the VSD10 line and VSD4000 line are designed for variable-speed operation with converters. This is the best selection for especially high energy-efficient operation. The synchronous-reluctance technology ensures especially high efficiencies in the partial load range and dynamic performance to achieve high process quality.
